Cathedral Catholic tops San Diego County preseason football poll


The Union-Tribune’s Pre-Season Top 10 for High School Football:

Team (last season) – Commentary

1. Cathedral Catholic (5-0) – The team in charge is No.5 in the state, but the schedule is among the toughest in the country

2. Carlsbad (5-0) – Sophomore QB takes control of the central team. Ranked # 23 in the state

3. Mission Hills (5-0) – QB is about to lead a great offense. The defense allowed 48 points

4. Lincoln (4-1) – Arizona’s QB transfer has important goals. The defense is fast. Ranked n ° 19 in the state

5. El Camino (2-2) – Veteran QB. Huge on both lines. Play with 5 Top 10 teams

6. Eastlake (4-0) – Returning QB for the second season. Trey White leads a defense that allowed just 29 points

7. Saint-Augustin (2-2) – The offense will be more open. Grace Halton leads top D. Saints against 5 Top 10 teams

8. Torrey Pines (3-3) – Homecoming offense and solid defense. Open to the Catholic Cathedral

9. Mater Dei Catholic (3-2) – Must replace QB, but Tre Edwards leads to charged defense

10. La Jolla (5-0) – QB is committed to Washington. Schedule includes Lincoln, Cathedral, Saints until the end of the season
