Focus on evangelism from the February 20 Pre-Lent address at the Cathedral – Catholic Philly
A special pre-Lent presentation featuring Paul E. Jarzembowski will take place on Sunday, February 20 and will be titled “Hope from the Ashes: Preparing for Lenten Evangelism.”
The presentation will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, followed by Mass at 6:30 a.m. in the Basilica.
Each Ash Wednesday and Lent, the church experiences a sudden increase in engagement, especially among those who are otherwise disconnected from a religious community. The conference will explore this annual phenomenon and consider how Catholics and active Christians can respond to this coming Lent with an evangelizing heart for one another.
The presenter is an internationally renowned Catholic leader and the author of “Hope Rises from the Ashes: Insights and Resources for Welcoming Lenten Visitors.”
He is also Associate Director for the Laity at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in Washington, D.C.
