It is ungodly for the churches to support the government in the construction of the national cathedral – Kumchacha
“How can we spend over $200 million to build a national cathedral when Ghanaians are hungry and living in poor conditions? Look how bad the Kumasi-Accra road is. How can we build a national cathedral when most of the units in Korle-Bu, 37 Military Hospital and Komfo Anokye Hospital need beds and medicine?” asked the pasto.
Speaking on Kofi TV, he continued that “how can we build a church when people sleep on the floor in hospitals because there are no beds? How can we do this? Has God told anyone their rent is due?”
According to Prophet Kumchacha, pastors supporting the construction of the National Cathedral sold their voice and conscience to politicians. The man of God’s comments come after a list showing church donations to the National Cathedral surfaced online.
Sharing his thoughts further, Kumchacha pointed out that “all the pastors who support the cathedral have been fed and paid to blindly support the order to impose the national cathedral on christians and Ghanaians and if you complain about it as a pastor they call you the antichrist.”
Kumchacha adds that there are already so many church buildings in Ghana that there is no need for a national cathedral. “How many churches do we have in Ghana? Don’t we have Presby, Methodist and Catholic churches in Ghana? I don’t even want to talk about charismatic churches,” he said.
“We have Jehovah’s Witnesses, Assemblies of God, Latter Day Saints, Chapel of Action, Lighthouse and many more. You cannot count the number of churches in Ghana. So why do we need a cathedral? And can we even build this cathedral in just two years? Let’s be truthful,he concluded.
