Jakarta Cathedral caps Christmas mass attendance at 650

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Jakarta Cathedral has announced that it will limit attendance to 650 for the upcoming Christmas mass tonight and Saturday, December 25. This is equivalent to 40% of the total capacity of the Catholic Church.

Cathedral spokeswoman Susyana Suwadie said worshipers who can attend Mass offline are those listed as members of the cathedral parish. Congregations must also be registered on the belarasa.id website to obtain a QR code which will be used to enter locations.

“The QR code, the ID card, then the PeduliLindungi app will be scanned,” she said. In December, Christmas capacity was 40% of what was initially set at 20% at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, ”Suwadie said on December 24, Antaranews reported.

Additionally, she said in-person Masses would be separated into three locations within the Church. The faithful are also invited to respect sanitary protocols and to wear their mask at all times.

Christmas Mass will take place on December 24th and 25th with the following times:

December 24:

1.10 p.m. WIB (online)

  1. 5:30 p.m. WIB (in person and online)

3.10pm WIB (in person and online)

December 25th

  1. 9:00 a.m. WIB (Pontifical High Mass, online, in person and broadcast on TVRI)
  2. 11:00 a.m. WIB (online and broadcast on Kompas TV)
  3. 5:00 p.m. WIB (in person and online)
